Banco General is the company and the leader with the best reputation in Panama in 2022
The Corporate Reputation Business Monitor (MERCO), the reference monitor for Latin America, has presented for the fifth consecutive year the rankings of the 100 companies and the 100 leaders with the best reputation in the country in 2022. The event, led by Raquel Robleda, CEO of Merco Panama, has also had the presence of José Manuel Lancha, corporate director of Merco Spain, who has participated with the presentation "Business Reputation from the MERCO Perspective".

For
the fifth consecutive year, Banco General (1st) is at the head of the most
reputable companies in Panama in the Merco Empresas ranking, followed by the
Panama Canal Authority (2nd) and Copa Airlines (3rd), which repeat positions,
showing the stable value of reputation. On the other hand, Riba Smith
Supermarkets rose from 6th to 4th place and Caja de Ahorros from 9th to 5th.
The top 10 are completed by: Banco Nacional de Panamá (6th), Nestlé (7th),
Cervecería Nacional (8th), La Casa de las Baterías (9th) and Banistmo (10th).
In
the results of Merco Líderes 2022, Pedro Heilbron (1st) [Copa Airlines] repeats
in first place as the manager with the greatest reputation in Panama, followed
by Stanley Motta (2nd) [Inversiones Bahía], Ricaurte “Catín” Vásquez (3rd)
[ACP], Juan Raúl Humbert (4th) [Banco General], Javier Riba (5th) [Riba Smith
Supermarkets], Ilya Espino de Marotta (6th) [ACP], Aimeé Sentmat de Grimaldo
(7th) [Banistmo], Raúl Alemán Zubieta (8th) [Banco General], Juan Octavio Díaz
(9th) [La Casa de las Batteries] and Rodrigo Riba (10th) [Riba Smith
Supermarkets].

30 economic information journalists, 31 Dircoms and opinion leaders, 30 NGO
managers, 25 unions, 26 consumer associations, 26 business area professors and
801 consumers (Merco Sociedad).

with these evaluations, an analysis of the reputation in the digital field of
companies (Merco Digital) is considered, with more than 257,488 mentions, and
the reality of these through an evaluation of reputational merits by 28
companies.
The
preparation of MERCO (Business Monitor of Corporate Reputation) has been
carried out by Análisis e Investigación, the first Spanish market research
institute, and the methodology for the preparation of these rankings has been
subject to independent review by KPMG, in accordance with the ISAE3000
standard. For this reason, KPMG does not make its position in this ranking
public.
