CORREAGUA S.A. increases its export capacity with high-tech products

Exports of Panamanian goods have registered a notable increase in volume and diversity in the last decade, with the main emphasis being on industrial products made with cutting-edge technology, which strengthens Panama's image as an international supplier and improves its competitiveness, said Eric Dormoi, director of Export Promotion of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MICI), during his visit to Industrias Correagua, S.A., in Pacora.

Dormoi stressed that prefabricated steel structures made in Panama are being used in megaprojects both nationally and internationally, including Correagua's exports. The plant has a significant investment in advanced equipment, such as rotary machines and robotic arms for welding, as well as CNC plasma cutters.

“Our figures indicate the growing opportunities for the Panamanian exportable supply with added value at an international level. We trust in the Panamanian industry and will continue to support our exporters to expand the promotion of our exports in the region,” Dormoi added.

Industrias Correagua, S.A. exports to more than seven countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, and recently its production was used in an important agricultural development project in Jamaica.

Alejandro Zanetti, commercial manager of the company, highlighted that this sale was the result of a trade mission organized by the MICI with the support of the Embassy of Panama in Jamaica.

In addition, the company is exporting tanks for storing fuel, becoming the first in Panama with certifications and permits for the manufacture of such products.

The Panamanian industrial offer includes a variety of products such as clinker cement, oxygen, veterinary medicines, ethylene polymer garbage bags, special acrylic polymer-based paints, prefabricated house structures, barrels, drums and containers, among others, all gaining ground in the international market.

According to reports from the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR) and analysis by the Office of Commercial Intelligence (INTELCOM) of the MICI, these emerging industrial sectors show "interesting, robust and sustainable" growth, especially in regional and Caribbean markets.
