International investors continue to be interested in taking advantage of the geographical position and the logistics platform offered by Panama. This Friday, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Mici) reported that the shipbuilding company Ocea is interested in investing in this country.
In a statement, Mici said that the company's interest in developing the project in Panama "is due to its strategic location on key maritime routes, a system of free trade zones with tax exemptions, and modern infrastructure, in addition to incentives such as the Law on Headquarters of Multinational Companies (SEM), among others."
At the meeting, it was also reported that the ambitious project will not only benefit national institutions, but will also seek to meet the demands of the international market. It detailed that the project will be developed in several phases, which will allow for continuous evaluation and adaptation to the needs of the sector.
Mici said that it began talks with Ocea to finalize this investment, which promises to generate 500 jobs in its final phase and contribute to the country's economic growth. It added that this initiative represents a significant opportunity for investors seeking to diversify their operations in a favorable environment.
“Ocea’s interest in Panama underlines the growing interest of international companies in taking advantage of the strategic conditions and incentives that the country offers, positioning itself as an attractive destination for the development of large-scale industrial projects,” said Mici.
